Your body needs a ratio of 80% healthy bacteria (like acidophilus) and 20% "unhealthy" bacteria. The average american has the reverse ratio. (80% unhealthy - 20% healthy). The healthy bacteria aid in assimlating nutrients from food. The unhealthy bacteria help to consume dead cells. Millions of cells die every day in the body and are excreted. These "unhealthy" bacteria in small numbers help the body stay clean and healthy. But, when we become toxic and our colon does not function properly, the waste materials in the body pile up and this creates an environment conducive to the proliferation of "unhealthy" bacteria and we become sick.

When the doctor prescribes an antibiotic to fight the infection, the antibiotic indiscriminately destroys ALL bacteria in the body. It cannot differentiate good bacteria from bad.
Most infections are due to the body's immune system attempting to flush out toxins. As these toxins are secreted, we feel sick. And it is during these "cleansing crises" that we seek relief from symptoms through antibiotics. Antibiotics temporarily relieve the symptoms of cleansing. The patient believes he is getting better because he no longer experiences the symptoms of cleansing. But in reality, the toxins and acids have been driven deeper into the cell tissues. In time, the "infection" returns worse than ever. The patient seeks medical attention and promptly gets another prescription for an even stronger antibiotic and the cycle continues.
How does the infection occur?

The colon is the main dumping ground for waste material and toxins. The body first seeks to dump waste material and toxins via the colon. If the colon is clogged, the body gets the signal "This trash dump is full. Go somewhere else." The body seeks to dump the toxins and waste through any means available. The body excretes these poisons (which contain high levels of harmful bacteria) through the skin, the lungs, the ears, the nasal passages etc... So, we end up with skin rashes, eczema. psoriasis, sinus infections, ear infections, halotosis (bad breath), bronchitis, athletes foot, colds, flu, muscle aches, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, mucle spasms... The list goes on and on.
The answer is to clean the body's main dumping ground (the colon) and restore the Alkaline/Acid ratio through eating natural alkaline foods (raw vegetables, fruits, whole grains, etc...). When cleansing crises occur we can help the body flush out toxins with natural antibiotics like whole garlic, drink lots of fluids to aid in the cleansing process and leave antibiotics as a last resort ONLY. Uncomfortable symptoms are an essential process of the healing and cleansing process. By providing a healthy environment within, the body will clean and heal itself and in time, reduce the frequency and severity of illnesses (cleansing crises).
